1859–1941. Henri Bergson föddes i Paris, han blev en av de mest framstående filosoferna i Europa och var likaså populär hos många under sin livstid. Bergson fick även nobelpriset i litteratur 1927. En bidragande orsak till populariteten var hans "positiva" filosofi. Bergson menade att intuitionen var mer essentiell än intellektet.

Admittedly we find a similar doctrine already in Schopenhauer. But when Schopenhauer speaks of – Arthur Schopenhauer was a German philosopher, who bridged Kant and Nietzsche. He was somewhat neglected due to the prevalence of his contemporary, Hegel. He lived from 1788 to 1860, dying a year after Bergson was born and Darwin’s Origin of Species published.
